A Snowy Owl is attacked by two Common Ravens one by one. (of course I do not think Ravens are evil, thought it made for a good title)

My first post in about 3-4 years, been shooting sports, travel and street with a rangefinder mostly.

The Snowy held its ground, did not get airborne, and the Ravens gave up alternately attacking after about 1 minute and both flew off. I waited about an hour for this in an otherwise uneventful outing.

Heavy crop, no lens was long enough as I did not want to approach and stayed far away so as not to disturb this magnificent arctic creature.

**Special thanks to Robert Parker (Square Man 1) as he kindly offered assistance when I reached out.**

I usually shoot Nikon but took a Canon 1D X II & EF 600mm f4 II.

Thanks and hello from Canada!

Excellent interaction you have captured Jeff, this Snowy must have thought he was back on the Tundra from whence he came. Glad to see you made it down and always happy to help out if I can.
Looking forward to seeing more of your images, all the best for 2018.

Regards,

Rob

Wow, thanks David! I think we all bring iur own unique eye (or try to) to our images. For me, I think as a past and present sports shooter I look for peak action, emotion as a journalist when I shoot. Most days it is a slow news day. ;) That day it was a lucky, more intresting one for me, though I aspire and would love to one day get a few pics of the quality that you and the others here produce, especially of a Snowy!
