This was shot the first night in Conneaut Harbor during the blackout. The light started to turn golden and I shot everything that I could. I had plopped down in the muck and waited for the shorebirds hoping for the dowitchers to come by. If you sit and wait long enough the will soon ignore you. This was shot as a horizontal as they had been stretched out feeding and had come close. They were also continually on the move. Then for a brief moment this guy just stopped and posed nicely. I didn't have a chance to switch to vertical and get the full reflection but I still liked what I saw.

Like the composition; the only partial reflection isn't a problem IMO. Looks like you made productive use of your time during the blackout.

Super shot Lana. The soft golden tones and muted background lend a very pleasant "feel" to this image. I love the little intimate look he is giving you.

A sweet shot, Lana. Composition is ideal. The reflection is not strong enough to need all of it - the part you have provides room for the virtual legs. A little tweaking in Curves would make the image pop more.

Great to have you posting here.

Beautifully presented Lana! I love the lighting and the pose. The low angle is very nice.

It's all about the light isn't it. This so blows away any dowitcher photo I've ever taken I want to run and hide and

Beatiful light, great pose. However I would have liked to have seen more of it's legs. The location where the water cut off the legs make the image a little "uneasy"

Lana, Just beautiful. The low angle conveys the message that your butt is wet as well.
