Hi,

Found this beautiful bird near a dam in the Northern Territory. They liked to stage on the dry water lily seed pods, which made for great perches :)
Here the bird didn't like another kingfisher fly by and raised it's crest.

Shooting Kingfishers in tropical Australia always gives you a funny feeling, since there's always the possibility of a big crocodile swimming by...

Beautiful bird and great head angle. About as cool of a perch as I have ever seen a kingfisher on. I would crop a tiny bit off the bottom to just above where the blurred leaf covers the stem of the branch the bird is on.

This guy is fantastic looking. I thought the Red-backed was great but this species has some killer blue colors!!
Nice alert pose and the perch is about as unique as it gets. Well done Jan

Fantastic colors! I'd put up with a few crocs for a photo op like this!
