If there is such a thing as a Steller's Jay irruption we are experiencing it here on southern Vancouver Island. At one point I had seven Jays at my 12" x 12" feeder at the same time.

What a brilliant frame Mike, the details , composition and background all contribute to this stellar image in more ways that one. No pun intended.

This species is irrupting to lower elevations all over, it sounds like. I follow the New Mexico FB birding page, and it's the same thing there. So many Steller's in the ABQ valley. As far as this image goes.. I'm totally jealous! I want to add this slick Jay to my portfolio so bad!
