Had the opportunity to work a pond that held hundreds of Gadwall but this Shoveler came by and stole my attention. Many photogs will shy away from tele converters and other swear by them. This was taken with a 2xTC

CANON 5DMKIII, CANON 500 F4IS, CANON 2XTCII, ISO 500, 1/1250, F9, Bean Bag rest.

It appears the 2x worked nicely here, Terry! The detail, color, and lighting are all first-class! Well done!

No arguments with the results of you using 2x converter, lovely results.

TC's certainly have a place in my kit Terry and have enabled me to get shots that would otherwise have fallen short. You definitely made the most of the advantage here, nicely done!

Wow, nice detail. I may have to invest it a 2X. Not as striking as the breeding plumage, but always nice to have a variety of plumages.
