Taken last Saturday. It was dark and overcast ,creating  a nice and moody conditions. This shot represent classic conditions this time in the Pacific Northwest. This a reason why I am almost always carrying 1D3 with 300mm f/2.8 in my backpack if I need it in low light and if I can get close enough to take the shot.

1D3, TOKINA 300mm f/2.8 ATX PRO.
1/125, ISO-1600, f/2.8, handheld.

Please click on the image for uncompressed view, thank you.

Lovely image! Beautifully detailed owl and really nicely framed by the surrounding trees and branches.
