Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas June 25, 2017.

Nikon D810, 300mm lens, 1.4 TC, 1/640 sec at f/9.0, ISO 800.

Quail usually run around on the ground and are not often seen in trees.  For some reason this one flew up into a mesquite tree to have a look around.

Such a beautiful lady nicely posed in the fork of the tree. Like the head turn and eye contact, Gene. Very nice!
