Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas September 9, 2017

Nikon D810, 300mm lens, 1.4 TC, 1/640 sec at f/8.0, ISO 280.

Based on size, I believe this is a female.  (The female is larger than the male.)

Nice portrait Gene, I always refer to this raptor as a Buteo that thinks it an Accipiter with the way it hunts.
