Morning Dove
Houston, TX
D850, 300/2.8, ISO 250, f18, 1/250, 6 flashes, PhotoTrap triggered.
I've had the D850 for over a week and finally got out today to take a few images. Everything I did was in manual, so I didn't get to test the AF or higher ISO. I basically did a hummingbird setup with multi-flash and a fake background. I used a drop in 2 stop neutral density filter in the 300 lens and used 6 flashes for light, so I was able to shoot in daylight without recording any ambient light. As the bird flew to the feeder the PhotoTrap triggered the camera and strobes.

Looks like your set-up with the PhotoTrap is working well and you ahve the DOF issues nailed.
