Natural setting, red cliffs in the distance, and sunset.
Males are notoriously shy and tend to stay away, whereas females who are all black, behave with less prudence. Having tried unsuccesfully to get proper clean shots of the males in the previous days, this opportunity arose suddenly.
Photo taken in North-East Brazil.

love the light quality and bg colours. Can imagine that's a tough shot to get the blacks..

The Species, the pose, the perch, the background and the details look great but the bird is underexposed.
I know you're probably worried about the reds but you still need to over expose this bird a bit to get good details in the blacks.
Nice frame

Thank you both for your comments.
David, I actually reduced the reds from the original shot as the branches looked way too red, but you are right, it was sunset....
Will think again, but in the mean time, thank you for your time and advice.

great image. Did you try to selectively work on the blacks?
