Green Parakeet
Aratinga holochlora

Hidalgo Co, TX

Canon 1D MkIV
100-400 4.5-5.6 v.2 @ 400mm
f/5.6, 1/1,000 sec
iso 400

Natural light, handheld

Kind of a fun aside: I'm told that these guys show up for a short time to strip the Hackberries in the area every spring; in our RV Park, visibility isn't great when you're standing between two rigs; when the parakeets flew off, I'd just listen and follow the sounds of the munching of the berries (as well as their not-so-dulcet calls.)

Comments, constructive criticism, and suggestions always welcome.

Fun pose, decent result despite what look like tough lighting conditions.
