Shot 6 weeks ago. I rarely get close enough  to Belted Kingfisher, so I take any decent shot I can get.
1D4, EF300mm f/2.8L USM NON-IS +2.0X TC II (600mm f/5.6)
1/1000, ISO-500 f/7.1 on the tripod.

I haven't even had one opportunity in the last two years.
I hear them, see them but never get close enough.

Congrats Ludo on your lovely capture, yes, these guys can be tough to get close to and then the light has to be just right to avoid blowing the neck feathers.
