Ringed Kingfisher - The Pantanal, Brazil
In North America I have found Kingfisher species very difficult to get close to. In Brazil it was ridiculously easy. I saw this guy occasionally perching at the edge of a railing so I set my camera up early one morning in the Pantanal. The bird hadn't come back when it was time for breakfast and I went inside and started eating when he returned. I casually walked out to my camera and took this photo - this is uncropped. It's a Ringed Kingfisher...D500, 500mm, 1.4x, ISO 500, f/7.1, 1/250s E.J. Peiker http://www.EJPhoto.com
