This juvenile Piping Plover was born at Darlington beach, along Lake Ontario.
Flew about 130 km to land at Van Wagner beach where he/she spent two days in the company of four Sanderlings before heading further South.

Nicely done here.. I might allow for a tad more room on the bottom otherwise its beautiful with great details.

I would agree almost always as I'm not a big fan of banding.
However, I would take exception to this species in Ontario. 
They are just coming back, the species that is, to nest here after missing many decades and thanks to all the volunteers who put so much time and effort into to save them from people and predators, they may deserve to know if the newly hatched chicks survive migration, overwintering and might return to nest here.
