Taken in July in Delaware.
I tried a few techniques to improve the background but got very confused with all the layers. I realize I really need a private tutor for just a few key photoshop techniques that baffle me. I wonder if anyone does them over the phone.
Nikon D800 1/800 ISO200 F6.3, bean bag, set up perch and truck used as a hide.
thanks for looking and image critique.

Nice composition James, I am hopeless using layers and my knowledge of Photoshop is not very good . After struggling with Photoshop and not being very successful I try my best to get it right when shooting. I have tried to follow online tutorials but I get lost in them, must be an age thing with me or I cannot retain the information ( a bit of both I think )

I hope you have better luck than I have.

Cheers,

Rob

Great picture of this rare to find Bird. I heard that it is no longer in the group of Warblers.

great image James!

What do you wanna do to the BG? Just lighten it? A curve with the blacks lifted will do wonders here I'd say. It's actually pretty easy. Once understanding the powers of layers, Photoshop becomes a whole new monster :)

Hey Jan
If you are interested i am looking for lessons. I figure via phone since you are in Australia and I am in NY.
I guess all we would have to do is have the same photo open, same version of Photoshop and my payment to you before we do some lessons.
If any one else is interested I am seeking lessons on just a few techniques etc..
thanks Jan

Although I have a pretty good handle on PS I don't do to much to my backgrounds and don't use layers that often. I try to get it right in camera as much as possible so I won't be to much help to you but I do like the image as posted. Your setups are looking real good and your subject and background look good over here.
Well done James
