It took me an 1 hour to get this shot. These Tree Swallows were buzzing around late afternoon. I tried everything..taking hundreds of shots and what finally worked for me was to lock on the Swallow from far away distance and hopping it will fly close enough to take the shot. To lock on the bird when gets really close is almost impossible since they fly so fast and erratic.
I have quite a few perched shots of these beautiful birds but very few in flight.
Even better is if you can catch them in flight flying upwind (slow them down).

Good shot of a difficult bird to catch in flight. Definitely worth viewing large to enjoy the fine detail you captured.
