Another one - a bit experimental - from the kayak this weekend. The bird was strongly backlight by a diffuse and setting sun, so I strongly underexposed the scene to get this gilded or eclipse effect. I thought it is very timely given Monday's solar eclipse.

Timely and evocative image. Always fun to experiment, and this one works for me.

Beautiful rim lighting, Dorian! The back lighting showing through the feathers makes the image for me.

Cool effect and the plumage of the Egret really helps.

Not always a fan of back lit shots but this one is a perfect example of a well taken shot with a totally dark BG and beautiful rim lighting surrounding the bird.
A perfect subject for this shot. Well done
