First image of this species! When I lived in the Northeast I never bothered to chase this common bird down as I was always after rarer birds. I finally got a decent shot of one at Elephant Head in Arizona last week! 7 years in the making!

Great pose, details and BG, Dorian, I like the raised crest. Good to hear that the chase is finally over. :)

The same for me. First time I got a good picture of the cardinal, it was in Texas at Laguna Seca Ranch.

Nice picture.

I think they can be surprisingly hard to get- this is a winner! Nice pose with fully raised crest.

I've yet to get a nice frame of a cardinal also so I'm right behind you in the same club. Looks great Dorian, love the raised crest and the beautiful colors and details. The light quality and angle look perfect. Well done
