Hi,
When I traveled to TX in April 2017, I brought some fruiting Holly in my suitcase. Though the weather was awful, in and out clouds, and extremely windy, I still managed to get a few shots that were sharp. This was taken off a ranch while driving around on my own. Once I found a pair I set up along side a road. Was a lot of fun.
Nikon D800 500 VR, ISO 320, 1/800 F6.3, Bean bags and car as a hide. Thanks always  for looking and image critique. Clicking on image may reveal better details.

Does this image need to go brighter?

Pretty industrious! Not sure I would have room in my luggage for tree branches!
Beautiful image. The orange and red on a soft green BG makes for a very pleasing shot.

Brightness looks fine to me on my monitor, as does the photo overall. Light is perfect. The only nit I might pick is that this seems an unlikely perch for this species. Does this plant occur within its range?

The soft light really works well here, great pose, perch and BG, too. Brightness looks good on my monitor.
