Many animals in Africa have oxpeckers on them. They are generally welcome, as they eat the parasites that plague the animals. However, they also peck open wounds in the skin to drink the blood, and continue to peck  to keep them open.

The bill on these Oxpeckers is amazing - absolutely love it's bold color. This trio make a lovely image!
