Red-headed Barbet - Ecuador
D500, 150-600mm @ 450mm, ISO 800, f/7.1, 1/200s

While this scene actually happened just as shown in Ecuador, this is a composite of two photographs.  It was impossible to get the depth of field required for this female (left) and male (right) Red-headed Barbet to be in focus simultaneously due to the large depth of field required with the 450mm focal length I was shooting with.  To solve this problem I quickly focused and photographed the nearer bird and then moved the focus point to the farther bird and took a second shot - this was all done in about a second.

E.J., Very nice. Did Photoshop merge the two photos or did you have to so something to merge the images?

The camera did not move between exposures so I just brought the two files in as layers into a single Photoshop document and masked off half of the top image.  Literally took seconds.
