I have been fortunate to follow a family of American Kestrels, the smallest of the three falcon species that breed in eastern Ontario.
The young are very noisy and keep the adult birds busy hunting for food to feed them. I seldom get to see the more colourful male kestrel. Until this week that is, with the setting sun lighting it up nicely. The vole it is de-furring is just icing on the cake. I live for moments like this as a bird and wildlife photographer. Taken with the Canon 7D MK2, 500 f4 II + 1.4x III on a Gitzo tripod. Thanks for looking. |
