Just got a new D500 and have had a few days to shoot with it. This was taken yesterday at my upper feeding station. Perch is a native Hawthorn branch. Full size image can be viewed HERE

D500 - 500VR - ISO 640 - 1/320's - f8 - -0.3EV - SB-900 for fill

Nice setting and capture, Tim!
This looks as good as your D7200 shots if not better; D500 is more for BIF work, I suppose.

Tim, I don't know anything about D500 but I can see your picture is outstanding. I like the perch and BG.

Very nice, including the entire gallery on your site.. I too got the 500 but i use it for flight shots.. Its a great camera.

Tim, beautiful capture with lovely setting and sweet pose; incredible detail and color on the full size image!  Congrats on your new toy, but what stays the same is that your work is always impeccable.

Tim, Really nice. After using the 500 for a while, I'm curious about your comparison between the 500 and 7200 for static bird shots.

I was shooting Terns with a friend of mine's new D500 a couple days ago. The auto focus is fantastic on that camera.
