As some of you know from previous posts, I love Potoos and their ability to disappear in their surroundings. the common Potoo is not that common, and we were lucky to find this one in such a way. Usually perched high, but as the forest was flooded, this bird ended being a few centimeters from the water, and dangerously accessible to the local water-based predators.
I hope he made it to the dry season. I chose a photo (taken in Ecuador, from a canoe) with his eyes closed, as it better shows its cryptic abilities. Enjoy, Ugolino Working on a personal website.... Comments and advice welcome.
