We nicknamed him "Machobulli"....as he behaved both like a "bully" and a "macho", and it sounded good in Spanish.... chasing any and all smaller bird than him (vireos mostly) and even his mate, away from the small berries of a fallen tree.
I love Manakins as they are really difficult to photograph. This one was a new one for me, the Red-capped Manakin, seen in the Yucatan Peninsula with my reliable guide Luis Ku, aka "Luis La Legenda". Could not find the other local Manakin, which means that I will have to go back. I look forward to it. Best, Ugolino Working on a personal website.... Comments and advice welcome.
