This is a pair of Western Grebes doing their running on the water dance called rushing. They do this as a part of their courting and bonding ritual and it is really something to watch and hear.
This was taken last year in the spring. Unfortunatly the heavy rains we had in California this winter filled the lake to a level that makes it almost imposable to get in a good position to get this type of shot.
I hope it recedes in the next year or two so we can see this awesome spectacle again.

Thanks as always for looking and for your input.   I appreciate it.

David, Is this Lake Hodges?
Very Exceptional image - you were in an ideal position to get then close together and near the same plane.
Techs are perfect.
Just excellent!

Sandy,
Yes, but not sure how long it will be until it is low enough to get to some of the shooting spots again.
Thanks for the comment.

Thanks Jim,

Sorry that you and Kathy coming out to the workshop this year didn't work out due to all of all the rain but I'm sure hoping it works out for next season!

Hope to see you soon
