Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas a couple days ago. 

Nikon D810, 300mm lens, 1.4 TC, 1/1000 sec at f/7.1, ISO 800.

Other than a photo, this is the first Cedar Waxwing that I've seen.  They truly are beautiful birds.

They ARE gorgeous. Nice image of this guy. Laguna Seca is a great place to expand your portfolio with some very nicely-staged images. Cool place to stay, too.
my only suggestion here would be to use "levels" and "brightness/contrast" to define the eye a bit more.
Really nice image!

Gene you are killing me with all these images.. each one you post is a species I never get when I am there .. and I been there twice now... How would late June / early July be?
