We shot this in Arizona and use flashlights instead of place, it gives a far softer and nice feel than the washout you normally get with flash.

Nice little owl and the flashlight is a good idea. For my taste, it will be better if you see full eyes. and other suggestion is to crop in the way not to be in central of the frame your subject.

Amazing shot. Good idea with the flashlight. It is worth to click on the "Flickr" link...showing amazing details.
