Got out on a pelagic over the weekend. The nice thing in New Zealand is you only have to go a few miles off shore and you are surrounded by the most amazing seabirds, I take full advantage of this and try to get out at least once a month.

Thanks for commenting everyone. Ron to be honest these guys are coming right in to our boat as we lay a chum trail for them. They are very accustom to receiving fishing offal from the numerous vessels offshore. So with them an arms length away these images can be made with ease. Cheers

Terrific "in your face" pose. Interesting how fierce a bird can look like this, and perhaps has no evil intentions whatsoever. Love it!

Thanks Dorian, This was actually taken further south out of a city called Dunedin. A tour company called Monarch tours is experimenting with bird pelagics. This was an all day outing and the bird numbers were much greater than off Kaikoura. Cheers
