I photographed this hybrid Great-green/Scarlet Macaw on my most recent Costa Rica workshop that I co-led with Greg Basco. I love photographing Macaws because they've got a ton of personality, and they're not half-bad looking! Click on the image to see a full-sized version

Beautiful! Lovely colors and perfect wing down pose.

I should had stop there when I was in CR last week. I couldn't find the place when I was there and continue onwards to Dave & Dave Nature Pavillion instead.

I've had a hard time associating Macaws as wild birds from growing up and seeing them as pets or at the zoo. This frame definitely helps me get past that feeling. Great shot Doug.
