Practicing with my new Tamron 150-600 G2. Quite a different experience learning to use this lens. I think this was hand-held.

Thanks Karl and Rachel. It was a very windy day-thus the ruffled feathers, and perhaps turning away from the wind.

This is very good, Cindy. The detail in the plumage and the perch is first-rate, and the background is awesome. How do you like the new lens? From what I can see, it appears to be serving you well. In fact, this is my favorite shot from your D500 so far.   :D

Theses guys are so cute. I like the head turn you captured here and the snow on the perch and odd flake in the air make me feel the cold. Cheers
Thanks for looking,

Thanks, Ron-the lens is pretty sharp. For me it is taking some time to get used to-will be needing a tripod for the most part.

Cynthia, what a beautiful image with great pose, sweet perch and Wintry BG.  Love the wind-ruffled feathers and the tiny bits of snow, very well done!

Thanks again, all. Nice to get some encouragement with this lens. It's like no other I've ever had.
