Hi all,

I found a few of these in October last year. They were catching large caterpillars in a swamp. I noticed that they like to perch on anything sticking up from the ground, so I placed a couple of perches and was stoked to see them using it :)

Thanks for looking and your comments :)

Very cool, Jan, great-looking bird and setting. There almost is eye contact with the caterpillar, too. :)

This is truly outstanding Jan. Great work observing the birds, learning their movements, and getting those perches arranged so fabulously. You must have been so stoked to have one land with that caterpillar. Cheers
Thanks for looking,

I can't even imagine a better photo of this bird, Jan. Just goes to show you what can result from some patient study of a bird's habits.

The framing, the bird, the perch, and the BG are all awesome but that catarpillar just takes the cake!!
I will mention that this one isn't as sharp as your normal images so maybe a bit more sharpening on this one will fine tune it. Well done
