Good moves...I also like how the BG colors are a composition unto themselves and work with the bird's position. I might loose some of the rt side.

Leigha, I also believe this one is better. I think I would have also cloned out the highlights on the right.

Leigh, thanks for sharing the pre and post work - great job removing the white blobs, looks much cleaner and the viewer's eye can go directly to your lovely subject.  Sweet, endearing pose and dreamy surrounds captured, very well done :).
