I shot this the other morning at a lake close to my house in Christchurch, NZ. Seems a little late in the season for a few pairs of Australasian Crested Grebes with chicks and or on the nest still. Apparently if they have an unsuccessful first brood they will go at it a second time. These little ones were perking up looking for pops with the fish delivery.

Wonderful image. The detail is super and the little one's heads are just super.

Mike, love the playful title and the periscoping chicks are 11 on the cuteness scale.  Lovely pose on parent and the water BG has a surreal, dreamy look - gorgeous image.

Great family portrait and story, Mike.
The Red-breasted Grebes do the same around here.
It is good to have them around especially with the chicks.

Excellent family portrait; love the chicks. Great low POV. I might have preferred a sliver off the bottom, added to the top.

Great low angle, light and nice to see the little ones. I hope they will make it despite the late start.
