Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas last week.

Nikon D810, 300mm lens, 1/1600 sec at f/6.3, ISO 800.  Manual exposure.

A different crop on this one.  Clipped wings on purpose to emphasize the interaction.  Curious what you might think?

Like it. nice and tight on the action Gene, which for me is the best way to show this. The claw on the face looks potentially painful

Very nice capture. I noticed one of the bird have yellow beak and the rest have pink. Age?? or gender??

Mako, Yes, the color of the beak is determined by their age. When mature the beak is an orange color and the feathers are dark black.  There is no discernable difference between a male and a female.  In most hawks, the female is larger, but this is not true for the Caracara.
