From my recent trip to Florida.

This is either a juvenile molting into adult plumage or an adult molting into breeding plumage. These birds have the most incredibly large feet and long toes, an adaptation for walking on floating vegetation and climbing about on reeds. I had hoped to get a flight shot of a breeding plumage adult but had to settle for this. Still happy to get it regardless.

Bob, great incoming pose with nicely swept back wings and lifted tail.  Don't see them posted in flight as often, and this really shows off those crazy, but highly functional feet - very well done.

Very cool colours and wing position. I may consider a tad more sharpening. Looks rather soft here. Not all images have to be critically sharp to be nice images, and i think this is good example of that. You have caught a bird that rarely flies up in the air against a nice back drop. I envy your recent time spent in Florida Bob. I need to go back one day. I just had obstructed views of these guys, so nothing like this.
Thanks for looking,

When it came to this species, I was happy just to get a clean shot, as they tend to be behind vegetation.
Great flight shot of this species Bob, regardless of the plumage.

Wow! I've never seen an image of this species in flight. Love it. Thanks for sharing.
