I like it. Good exposure in the blacks and whites. Unusual (to me anyway) to see this bird in a grassy setting.

Botaurus, lovely behavior capture with the nesting material and a nice variety from the beak full of food that's usually shown.  Love the one foot up pose and the Spring-like habitat.

Very cool image and i like the grassy setting. I have seen them in a similar setting on the Farne Islands in the U.K. I do have a couple recommendations. I think some additional canvas at the bottom would help the balance here.There is also a very prevalent halo around the bird. This maybe due to some shadow/highlight adjustments or some sharpening. I see bright green along the dark back of the bird and a very dark outline around the birds chest. A way to resolve this would be to do some more targeted Shadow/highlight adjustment by carefully selecting just the blacks/whites while zoomed in to 100 percent in P.S. It is more work but the results will be more favourable. Cheers, Mike Ashbee
