Australasian Crested Grebe

I feel so lucky to have these birds as a fairly common waterfowl in the area of New Zealand i live. There is currently a large congregation(possibly a post breeding thing),30 plus individuals on a lake close by my house.

Great looking bird, excellent image of it, Mike.
(Just watched a film about the Kea and a Crow species last night from NZ. They are amazingly smart and great looking birds, the Kea that is.

Thanks for the feedback All.... Karl i just watched that two nights ago. Pretty impressive brains on those two species. I liked the Kea who broke into the restaurant at night to eat the margarine. Cheers
