Green winged Teal

This was shot in the lower mainland in B.C. where there are a few spots this species can be relatively easy to approach. This is not the case in a lot of other areas. This was shot just after sun up. I was stoked to catch that 'crest' when it was raised on the back of the head.

Gorgeous image Michael!
Never seen the raised crest before,due in part to only seeing their butts flying off,as they are very skittish here also!

Beautiful detail and light and love the neck raised. Maybe a bit more room around for my personal taste.

Mike, lovely frame with nice low angle and wonderful profile pose.  The warm color harmony throughout is really beautiful, and the trailing crest on back takes it over the top - very well done.
