I was experimenting with the combo detailed below.
It is very good for static but has lower keepers rate than with
500+1.4, but it is much lighter.
Thanks for looking.

Canon 5D Mark IV
Canon 100-400 L IS Mark II. +1.4x III.
ISO 2000
1/2500
f 9.0

Without the TC I'm sure the 1-4 would be able to keep up with AF tracking better ...

Karl, striking frame with wonderful pose and upward trajectory.  The BG gradient adds a lot, and the green iridescence on head is lovely.
