Pyrrhuloxia

Laguna Seca Ranch, S. Texas

D5, 300/2.8, ISO 2000, f9, 1/8000

Greg and I are just back from working in South Texas where we spent a lot of time photographing songbirds in flight. This was a banner year for Pyrrhuloxia with the most I have ever seen at the ranch. Here's a handsome male leaving our staging perch and heading to the feeder.

Pyrrhuloxia seem to be more abundant here this year too. We even have them in the Phoenix Metro which is unusual. Super cool shot.
