I just spent a month in Florida visiting my son and his family but also found plenty of time to get some bird photos. This bird was high on my list and very difficult to find. Conditions for shooting were also a challenge since these birds are very reclusive. Shot at a private residence. Not a setup. Processed on my laptop.

Bob, Beautiful bird and colors. I like the natural habitat shot. Painted Buntings arrived last year at the ranch on April 11th. Am curious if the hotter weather will move their migration up or delay it? Hope you post some more images of the Painted Buntings.

Beautiful colorful bird and a nice image of it Bob.
This bird was on the top of my list a few years back as well.

Nice image Bob. Love the head turn and natural setting. You also managed to not blow any details in those extremely vibrant colours. Sounds like a great trip.
Thanks for looking,

Wow, my favorite bird Bob. I think I saw a female in Costa rica once but I've never photographed a male. Hope you had fun in Florida. I love traveling to places for photos. I like this one better than the black background one.
