Sometimes a big lens means too close.

And this is exactly what happened to me with this GGO in Refuge faunique Marguerite d'Youville located at Ile St-Bernard in Chateauguay, Qc. a few days ago.

This GGO was on the hunt and it suddenly dived towards the ground and flew close to minimum focusing distance then turned its head at me and throw me this look.

What a thrill!

Nice shot. Great detail. Yep, 600mm lens is like a double edged sword...nice when you need the reach and curse when subject is too close.
In this shot the long lens worked out well with nice detail of GGO's head.

Very nice 'inflight portrait'. Way to stay with the bird that long and amazing it stayed in focus and is super sharp. I can guarantee i would have looked down at my display to see some distant trees in focus not the bird.lol
Thanks for looking,
