Hi all,

these guys are quite different to what their looks might make you believe. They do look like nutchatches/treecreepers and do run trees up and down like them as well, however, they behave a lot more like small songbirds. They are always on the move, usually in flocks of up to ten birds. They also hang out more in the canopy, foraging through small leaves and branches, rather then focusing only on tree trunks.

You can never plan to photograph them either, the just appear out of nowhere.
The biggest challenge is to find a suitable perch within minutes, or they are gone. I was stoked to find a nice branch that had been previously burnt in a bush fire and now started to grow lichens. The bird cooperating was a nice bonus topped it off :)

Great perch choice for what sounded like a quick set-up. Such a great pose this cool looking bird gave you too.
Thanks for looking,

Great composition and positioning of the bird on the diagonal perch. This is such a cute little bird. Excellent!
