Short-eared owl the silent ghost

This is one of my favorite from a huge set shot last weekend.
Here this owl sneaked up on me. I had split second to take the shot.
When I am shooting Short-eared owls active,  I am constantly looking around 360 deg.
On this shot I was just checking my exposure settings since light was changing (I shoot manual exposure) when in the corner of my eye I saw this owl just floating above the grass in search for voles like a ghost really close (this is almost full frame shot with a minimum crop).
Light was awesome, nice orange warm glow from the sun setting just above horizon.

1D4, EF300mm f/2.8L USM NON-IS
1/3200, ISO-200, f/2.8 handheld
