This is one of my favorite from a huge set shot last weekend.
Here this owl sneaked up on me. I had split second to take the shot. When I am shooting Short-eared owls active, I am constantly looking around 360 deg. On this shot I was just checking my exposure settings since light was changing (I shoot manual exposure) when in the corner of my eye I saw this owl just floating above the grass in search for voles like a ghost really close (this is almost full frame shot with a minimum crop). Light was awesome, nice orange warm glow from the sun setting just above horizon. 1D4, EF300mm f/2.8L USM NON-IS 1/3200, ISO-200, f/2.8 handheld Please click on the image to see larger uncompressed image view, thank you |
