Short-eared Owl and Northern Harrier fighting. This owl was sitting in the grass and Northern Harrier came down to harass this owl.
Owl stood it's ground. I see fights all the time between SE owls and between SE owls and Northern Harriers. Some times even 3 birds fighting in the air. I seldom get close enough to get a nice close shots of fighting...some day :-)

Mako, Great timing. This is not something seen very often, especially in a photo.

You have a great place for yourself with all the SEOW shots and NOHE shots. Excellent action shot.

Fun shot...GHO have a particular fondness for Harriers, many times have seen their carnage below GHO roosting trees.

Ludo, great action capture with the talon-to-talon and eye-to-eye showdown poses.  Interesting to see their size relationship, too.

Nope, SE owl won this battle. Usually Northern Harrier wins, especially when SE owl is in midair with a vole. In that case SE owl usually drop the vole, in many cases Harrier try to find it with no success and sometimes SE owl come back to retrieve the vole if it finds it where it dropped it.

Thank you all for the kind comments.
