Surf Scoter

Yesterday was one of those days where everything was perfect except for it being a long weekend so tons of people hanging out on the shore pushing the birds out to sea.  There was quite literally only this one bird within shooting distance. But luckily it was an extremely cooperative surf scoter, a species not known for coming close.  

Nikon 200-500mm with 1.4 tc 1/1000 sec  ISO 400 650mm F/9
