Taken this past weekend after a heavy snowstorm in the northeast US. He has been hanging around this winter, which is very unusual, but not totally unheard of.

He was sitting on the ice for a while, but then a bunch of Canada Geese and Mallards all got up together and walked single file onto the knoll (looking for food, I suppose). He joined them. And then they all walked back onto the ice. It was quite a parade.

I also used fill-flash for the 1st time - not entirely sure my adventure was successful. Any quick tips in-camera or in PP are appreciated!

Please consider opening in full view.

All comments and critiques welcomed.

Best,

Matt

Matt,  Nice details.  I think the fill flash even improved the detail in the snow.  What setting did you use for the fill flash?  Disregard you posted that information.

Matt, even better when clicked on, very good feather details and head angle.  That parade must have been something, gave me a chuckle.

Thank you, Gene. My settings were ETTL, Auto Zoom and -1 Flash Exposure Compensation.
