Taxonomy: Psittacus vernalis Sparrman, 1787,north-east India.
The search for a good picture of this species started in Kerala, India but we were unlucky at first . As out tour was near an end in Valparai, Tamil Nadu ,we on the last day had an early start for a trek to find Great Hornbill and in the trek progressed we came across a Virgin Mountain forest of Western Ghats ( Such forest now days seems hard to find). The place was full of bird songs and at that moment I felt that I was in forest of North-East India. We were able to locate a fruiting tree and hide our self behind tree , The angle to the birds on the tree was odd but these flowers were on an eye level to us and luckily the bird we wanted to capture showed up couple of times in these flower.
