Northern Hawk-owl

It's not the hawk owl time of year but I was in Alaska recently shooting some moose in the rut and ran across this one in his summer grounds.

Very nice shot of one of my (if not the) favourite owls to photograph.  The northern hawk owl has got it all.  Active during the daytime, not shy at all and I just love the look of this owl.  These owls sometimes move into our area by mid to late November.  Many don't discover them until much later.  Fortunately, I have seen at least one each winter for the past 9 years or so.  Never gets tiring.
